Personality
As the name implies, Pleonexia is a witch that prides herself on wealth and material possessions. Above all she is a highly curious being that desires to learn more about the people and magic she encounters. While she can flawlessly execute a friendly personality, her expressions are quite stoic as a result of magic that masks her emotions. She has been known to disregard her friendly facade and use remorseless violent force to get what she desires.Post Moge-Ko infusion: Her personality takes a pretty sharp turn when she takes on Moge-Ko's DNA. She now has a much more playful and sadistic personality as her daughter once did. Good luck reasoning with her in this new state.
Appearance
Pleonexia has the appearance of a young woman in their mid 20s with white hair and a porcelain complexion. Her height and slender build give off the impression that she is a fragile woman. Often times she is described as having a wispy appeal.Ordinarily she can be seen in a black dress covering everything but her head, neck and hands. Her body lacked color because she had never experienced sunlight, but her eyes have a very defined purple hue similar to the Neverside's luminescence.Post Moge-Ko Infusion: Like her daughter Moge-Ko she now has two fluffy cat-like ears and a tail. Her eyes have turned to an intense red hue, and her maw is filled with sharpened teeth.
Abilities
Main abilities
Affinity of Souls - This is the term dubbed for Pleonexia's connection with Dynasty as her affinity Witch. This connection took her whole power set to another level and allows her to inflict more control and despair than ever before. Soul Contracting: For those who are willing Pleonexia can legally 'own' someone's soul. Much like a devil she would find something that someone would want in exchange for their soul. This connection allows her to write in any terms that she deems fair and destroy their soul if she deems them unfit. Body Possession: The process nearly breaks her own existence and renders her powerless, but she can take over someone's soul and possess their body.Reality Anchoring - Though her ability is not nearly as potent as a specter she still exists mostly outside of perceived reality. This also makes her completely immune to timeline erasure and catastrophic events that would usually wipe out entire universes. While she is many times weaker than a specter, this alone makes the strength of those outside the Neverside nearly irrelevant to her. The main difference between her and a specter is that she is basically a mortal compared to other Neverside beings.Ethereal Presence - This only really applies to those outside of the Neverside as anyone caught by her ethereal state in the Neverside are simply being nice or playing along. She can be destoryed by Neverside magic, but almost all forms of magic and physical attacks have no effect on her body.Necklace of Souls - Formed from the shard of an ancient Dayside weapon, this enchanting object has the ability to drown out one's connection to the Neverside temporarily. Though its no better than a surprise attack against beings like specters it is particularly effective at revealing things the Neverside might want to hide. Thus you could call it a compass for mages curious for knowledge like Pleonexia.Reality Manipulation - One of her greatest triumphs is breaking into the unseen dimensions of space-time. As a being that is already immune to most Universal and timeline events, she can harmlessly pass through any area of perceived reality without a sweat. Punching a hole through the fabric of reality might as well be poking a pencil through a sheet of paper for her. As for how this ability effects the Neverside... it can't. But she can cleverly make it seem as if it does. One thing she has learned is that parts of reality across the omniverse can be delicately painted over the Neverside, and if woven carefully... even structures such as castles can be built. That's why her moon sized castle in the Neverside was such a success! At any given moment however, she can shatter those pieces of reality she creates and return the Neverisde to its natural barren state. She even used this magic to create her own subrealm and Kingdom within the Neverside in order to ensure that her subjects wouldn't descend into chaos among a dying Neverside.Curse Magic - Perhaps developed out of her trust issues thanks to Navar, she has the ability to place curses inside or outside of someone's body. They are absolute conditions that must be followed, and are quite inevitable, though they do take a bit to set up. Some of her curses can be afflicted on a much larger area of people. Though curses are quite easily countered by Wizards who understand dark magic, hence her quest to learn Soul Contracting and become an Affinity Wizard.⎜VS Battle Power and StatsKey: Base Pleonexia | The Avarice Witch | The Witch of Souls | Moge-ko hybrid PleonexiaStats: 7-C | 4-A | High 3-A | High 3-AAttack Potency: 7-C (Town level) Witches typically aren't stronger than Neverwas, but even as a young girl named Virtue, she was an exception to this rule. | 4-A (Multi-Solar System level) She was able to hold her own against Dynasty and nearly banish the specter. Early History
Prologue
There are infinite examples of dichotomies, and the Neverside is no exception to that rule. The Neverside is a realm of infinite power with beings of unimaginable potential, while the Dayside is a realm of light with infinite possibilities and civilizations, but ordinary power. One day, over 200 years ago the realm of the Dayside was invaded by a fearsome creature called The Twilight Trickster... a resident from the rival Neverside. It started it's slaughter in the Kingdom of Kamala... the general populace stood no chance against it's ancient power. Anti-Magic was a thing at the time, as the line between the Neverside and the Dayside was very much open at the time. This allowed at least a couple thousand souls escape their war torn homes. With no other choice they tried their luck in the Neverside's mysterious realm.
Origins
The first generation of Neverside Wizards and Witches came to be when those Kamala residents populated the Neverside with their children. While they still appeared mostly human, they were significantly more powerful. The Neverside realm had no sunlight or natural warmth, therefore many of the children had no color in their skin.
While they had struggled together for survival the Neverside is quite a tricky place. Temptations of power led the new residents to try their luck with learning the ways of the Neverside. Much to their dismay... many of them lost their sanity trying to do so.They were becoming something of a blight on the Neverside, as this power was never meant to be shared with their rival Dayside brethren. It is after all, a place of infinite power and imagination. The citizens of Kamala were becoming more and more scattered as the Neverside seemingly desired them to be. However roughly 56 clans were formed in the onset days of the Wizard revolution. 'Virtue' was Pleonexia's first name in this story. Her father was a Dayside soldier who carried with him a sword of anti-magic which he would use to defend his refugee family. Even at the young age of five she showed an affinity for magic that was unprecedented for first generation wizards. But that life of nourishment and family love wasn't one that would last forever. The solution the realm itself decided upon was to initiate an extermination to restore the balance that Dyna disrupted. Despite it being Dyna's fault she is just as much the Neverside as the tree of life, therefore it implored her early self to take part in the execution. Her personality and consciousness were still far from fleshed out at this point, and there was no questioning the Neverside's call to defend for her.The slaughter of Pleonexia's village was successful, but the Neverside's intent to exterminate them was far from a possibility. The Wizard presence was the new status quo, and nothing would disrupt that.
Early Life
Virtue managed to escape with her life, but her parents sadly fell even with their anti-magic defenses. The slaughter left her scarred, but she was quickly picked up by another clan of people. Her parents had left her a charm of magic in the form of a necklace, which the village people saw as a sign of class or royalty. This was hardly the case, as her father was merely a foot soldier and carried the rare anti-magic material out of duty. Despite this she didn't mind being taken in and raised by the clan. They were particularly kind and seemed to think Pleonexia would be a bright part of their future given how genius she was at a young age.Naturally she ascended to the position of Leader in the clan and managed to show everyone how to avoid dangerous Neverwas creatures, while maintaining their own balance of magic. Her naturalistic approach really stuck with the clan and meditation became a focus of the group. They followed her example so closely as a leader they even refused to write any of her teachings down, because they believed it would be blasphemous to put anything she says into their own words. Thus, the clan effectively thrived on feelings alone and they found peace through this internal balance with the Neverside. The lack of corruption in their mind also meant that danger rarely lurked around their village at that point. However, there were at least 50 other clans at the time that had different ideas on how to survive. Voices of the 2nd generation of Wizards born in the Neverside became ever more prominent. By this point Pleonexia was physically in her 20s and quite wise like an elder in her work. Never did she expect a young and ambitious man from outside her clan to take interest in her work. This young man was named Navar and he was part of that younger generation. His people believed in the power of books and literature in a way that her own clan found blasphemous. Despite the feelings of her people she decided to pursue a mutual relationship with the young leader of the neighboring clan. She spent more time away from her people than ever before and learned the benefits of scribing and writing complex knowledge. So much inspiration struck that she felt the need to pitch Books as a means for developing her own clan. Though her people greatly admired her wisdom, a tension was certainly stirring... the primal urge her own people felt to take out those who were different than them was taking over.
The Neverwars
The Deathwalkers
Tensions bubbled to an absolute tipping point when her people decided to sneak into Navar's village and burn all their valuable knowledge in a bonfire of magic. Virtue's home was also raided by her own loyal followers who had doubts about her ability to lead and took valuable books she herself had started writing. Several of her clanmates had been captured, and that's when Pleonexia found herself between the two groups. Navar had summoned some of his best minions to brutally execute the trespassers with inhumane magic. She had to sit their and witness the whole thing happen and though she found his treatment of their crimes disgusting she felt at a loss. Her people were clearly ignorant and rebelling against her will, and so she did what she had to... she turned on them and allowed Navar's people to come in and slaughter the rest of the trespassers. Only a few remained and joined up with Navar's village, including Virtue who had become quite numb to the whole situation. Somehow it didn't feel all that bad to watch them die. No family love, and very little empathy was felt by her in this case. Navar was on to bigger and better things and so would she be as well.Navar must've felt a rush from killing those trespassers, because he started to militarize his group and formerly call his top troops 'The Deathwalkers'. Even Pleonexia enlisted herself into this group, though she rarely took to the front lines. His tyranny expanded with influence, and he began to insist on his way with everything. Even Pleonexia became numb to the lives she did take, and the orders she carried out. Virtue found that nothing would stir her away from this cult way of thinking that she simply accepted and followed around, until one day she met the woman of another clan who was enlisted into Navar's empire. Her name was 'Eve', and she absolutely adored this woman. For whatever reason Eve believed in Virtue and they soon pursued a romantic relationship as well! As their relationship grew deeper she began to feel emotions again... and her girlfriend was an outspoken opponent of Navar's tyranny. As Navar's informant she was conflicted... though no question was left in her mind when Navar ordered the public execution of Eve for her disobedience. The manner of betrayal she felt was unequivocally the deadliest mistake Navar had ever made. The amount of deaths that Virtue caused that day would be only 2nd to the toll of the Neverside War when all was said and done. And despite her support for him she would throw all that away and waste hundreds of his lackeys like trash. What Navar didn't know is that she had taken his belief in books to heart, and took joy in writing down all the different ways to kill a Wizard. Thanks to the way Navar desensitized her and made her thirsty for blood she didn't have a problem in the world absolutely demolishing his forces.Even so, Navar would still escape and manage to be known as Warlock when all was said and done. His absolute will to tyrannize and destroy the Neverside ended up making their home a bit of a wasteland. With nowhere to go back to, Virtue had to go to a new land and even find herself a new name... Pleonexia.
Avarice
The kingdom of Avarice
With no people to call her own Pleonexia would have to create her own place in this new era. The rush she had killing all those souls never went away, though she pondered her first clan and wondered if perhaps she could still lead. If she could make something better and incorruptible. The natural solution would be to recruit Wizards who would be loyal only to her and serve to fit her own interests. Though this mindset was repeating Navar's mistakes she really couldn't escape his influence on her mind, and she wished to be the one pulling the strings so badly. The taste of violence never left her mouth, so she learned even more ways to inflict pain and used the abuse as a means to make people more loyal. Curse magic became a most useful tool in terms of setting conditions on Wizards who dared to disobey her wishes. She simply pulled apart clans that she found as primal and conscripted them into her corrupt causes. In her mind she justified it as 'Uniting the Neverside' which would become her new mantra for these despicable acts of violence.Even with her busy life she never let her studies hit the wayside and even began to experiment with the fabrics of the Neverside. Many clans had found a way to create sub dimensions to escape the withered state of the Neverside thanks to Navar's destruction, and Pleonexia was no exception. She built a pocket realm which reminded her of the old glory of the Neverside she remembered as a first-generation Wizard. Though the scenery was nice her people were very much under oppressive rule, and she didn't tolerate any signs of disloyalty. The battle to maintain control became tiresome, and she started to ponder if there was a better way to pull their strings. She would work tirelessly to provide a stable Wizard society, one unlike any had ever seen!
Way of souls
She had conquered so much, but she was still an infant compared to the power of the Neverside. Her curiosity of The Neverside was everlasting, and her endless exploration would eventually land her a meeting with the beings that started this whole path of life for her in the first place. The first Specter she met was Promethean and by that point she could tell that not only were they conscious, but they were infinitely powerful beings that could share wealth with other people. She had heard from Navar that the specters were mindless savages, but she saw the potential from her first meeting with one. From her time in Navar's army she heard a rumor that was purely theoretical, but it was said that a contract can be formed with a Specter if they are willing. When she found out that Promethean's partner was the Specter of Souls she had a twisted idea come to mind. She recognized that Dyna was short for 'Dynasty' which was the Specter who had killed her parents. She would no doubt be able to play a sympathy card with the Specter and gain her trust. Though it would be a very long burn process. But just to speed things up a bit she had an idea for a first encounter! She found Dyna and recklessly attacked her by surprise, knowing the specter would likely be able to squash her. She was surprised by her own ability to resist, but ultimately she found defeat... all as planned. She pretended to care about all that ancient history and lied about holding feelings for her long dead parents. At this point she was really old and didn't give a shit given everything she had been through. The technique worked, and over time they formed a bond of trust. Even though she was planning on using Dyna for the sole purpose of becoming an Affinity Wizard, she started to find the value in building a genuine bond with her. She was patient, and pleasantly surprised when Dyna decided to grant her the Affinity of Souls despite her true dark and sadistic nature. As a thanks she outwardly and inwardly promised that she would never cross Dyna's interests and maintain a mutually healthy relationship. She would also cool down her own ambitions to rule the Neverside, realizing through their bond that there was more to life than what she had been through.Even so, that wouldn't spare the subjects of her kingdom in the least. One new ability 'Soul Contracting' was especially useful on her followers. She would find a way to make them a deal in exchange for ownership of their soul! Thus... the Kingdom of Avarice now thrives and serves her better than ever before.
